Sid’s Back!

Tonight Sidney Crosby will return to the ice for the first time since January 5th, 2011. He’ll take the ice against the same team that knocked him out for 320 days and the same team that brawled with the Penguins on February, 11th.

Should be an interesting game.

Rams Notch First W

Rams win 9-2 over the Bandits.   Goals from Sponge Bob Thor-pants, Amos & Brady, but for the most part it was the Baked, Carmesan, Stew line rallying for 6 goals.  Gil stood tall in the crease and gave the Rams their first Win of the season.  1-1-1.

Next up Zebras on Tuesday @ 10:40.

The New Guys Shine, The Old Guys Were There Too

Big thanks to Carter for handling the write-up today.

General thoughts on game, write-up:

Thanks to the new guys, the Rams had 5-2 lead with 8 minutes left in the third period.

Thanks to the old guys, the Rams ended in a 5-5 tie.

New guys names are Stuart, Mike, and Clark.

Carmen doesn’t count as a new guy.

Seravalli is a really stupid hockey team name (thanks Bake)

Colin scored, but didn’t beat anyone up.

My early season 6-pack is a flawless washboard.

Rams break tie as Bake pours another beer while Seravalli leaves bar in the fourth period. Good win!

Time and Place for Cheap Beer

In an interview with Sam Calagione, the Dogfish Head Brewery founder and president reveals two cool facts.

  1. He plays hockey.
  2. Afterward, he drinks cheap beer from cans.

Do you still drink cheap beer?

I do. I play on an adult hockey league team. And every week it’s one of my teammate’s job to bring a 30 pack of cheap, cold cans of lager. And whatever one it is, whatever brand it is I look forward to having it. There’s nothing like that light lager for refreshing after a hockey game. There’s really not any other occasions in my week where I’m craving that kind of beer. But I’m a beer geek, not a beer snob. And all beer is good. And there’s a time and place for any kind of beer.
