Rams Fall to Thunder

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Dear Ref,

You probably think I’m writing to tell you to get off your knees and stop blowing the game. I’m not. I wanted to say thank you for not finding a way to ruin Kierstan’s goal, the Rams only goal in their 5-1 series ending loss to the Thunder. Yes, it’s not your fault we could only score 1 goal, but it is your fault that you’re ugly. And, before I forget, please go suck some hairy golf balls.

Dear Dad

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Dear Dad,

I know you’re the biggest Rams fan. And, boy, did you miss a good one. Wednesday night we had the chance to close out the Penguins in our best of three series in the semi-finals. You remember, right, that they finished first and we, fourth. So, we were up one game from winning 3-1 on Sunday. And the Penguins came out “BALLS OF FIRE!”. We were on our heels. They, Dan Berk to be specific, scored on a nice tip. But the Rams didn’t panic. Colin scored next, and we tied it at one. Amos scored and we went up 2-1. Meanwhile, Kev was lights out.

Here’s the great part: I scored to put us up 3-1. Then Frankinpenguin scored to make it 3-2. Then, yep, me again. Where was Bake you ask? Hmmm. Getting slashed in the corner I guess.

Anyway, we won 4-2. On our way to the Championship round. Talk to you later.

Love,

Carter

Rams Take Game 1

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Despite their disparate seedings, the first place Penguins and fourth place Rams proved yesterday that the regular season doesn’t mean much. The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the first on a shorthanded goal by Bake to break the ice. That was followed by a goal in the second by Shoup to go up 2-0. Skinny Cleary got the Penguins back within one but the Rams stifled the rest of the Penguins attack. Bake got the empty netter.

Game 2 is Wednesday at 10.

Rams Hungry for More

Monday, March 15th, 2010

“I’m ready to order” said the man to the waitress Sunday night. “And what would you like?,” she replied. “Oh, back and forth hockey,” he said. “But this time let the Rams win 5-3. And give me a serious dose of spray deodorant and a slew of shower jokes at the end.”

“Done,” she replied. “That’s called the Yahsin.”

Rams vs. Bandits in a statistically meaningless game Tuesday night at 9. While the Rams could tie the Bandits with 14 points on the season, the Bandits win the tiebreaker for Goals For. At least that’s what the man who talks to his waitress about such things thinks.

Rams WIN Thursday Game on Wednesday!

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

The Thunder forfeited thursday night’s game to us. They have a playoff game in West Chester. We have the ice if anybody wants to skate. Dean’s not skating. If anybody wants the pucks, let him know.

Rams Reclaim 4th, 4th place that is

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

The Rams took a one-point lead in the standings over the Blades Saturday night, beating the Blades 6-4. Coming off their 4-goal loss on Thursday, the Rams played angry in the first but couldn’t muster up a goal. The Blades, however, did. And they took a 1-0 lead to the second until Flood, Dean, and Bake scored on two shifts to put the Rams up 3-1. The Rams would hold their lead thanks to goals by Billy, another by Bake, and an empty netter by Bern.

A Tuesday Night Tune-up…

Gordie Howe Pride!!!

With impending snow and the early 10:40 PM Tuesday night hockey slot, the Rams were looking to send a message with a win over the Bandits. This contest was back and forth, with the Rams leading 4-2 into the third, when a barrage of horrendous penalties came pouring down onto the Rams. Killing off 4 of 5 consecutive penalties in the last 8 minutes of the third period, the Rams clinched a 4-3 victory. Great goals scored by Dave Kane, Amos, Billy, and Colin.

Colin had an assist too…

What could be next? Could it be???????

Thor Scored and 35 Months

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Thor scored for the first time in 35 months for the Rams but it was Danny Berk’s hurling worthy goal that earned the win for the Pens, 3-2.
