WILLOW GROVE, Pennsylvania – It was said on THE website that there has not been a repeat CML Champion in the previous 5 years. Obviously the 5 previous champions have all tried and failed. It will now be the goal of the Penguins to erase that stat. A task that became much more difficult Thursday with the announcement that All-Star net minder Chris Wang will not be retuning for the 2009-2010 campaign. Wang has sighted that it is an increase in work hours and responsibility that will prevent him to committing 100% to a repeat drive. When the news leaked via Facebook and e-mail, the Penguins brass was sent into a stumbling flurry. Who were they ever going to find to replace their best player? It didn’t take long and it seemed the slumping economy has now helped the Penguins cause. Andrew Golin, a recent graduate of Penn State University, will be retuning to his hometown to save money while looking for a job. And since you can’t look for a job at night, he has decided to also look for a team. Golin is hoping to find enough money under a rock to be able to backstop the Pens in their title defense. The Penguins have extended an official offer to the young netminder and are waiting on word from his agent. The Golin name is not unfamiliar to the barn loathed as Wintersport; his older brother Chis has played for the Rams in past seasons. No word yet on whether the elder Golin will be returning to the Rams. That would make the already fierce contest between the two teams that much more exciting in the City of Brotherly Love.
