Sabres Walk Away From Dumont

The Buffalo Sabres have decided not to accept the one-year, $2.9 million arbitration award for winger JP Dumont, making him an unrestricted free agent.
It's been rumored the Sabres were trying to shop Dumont, perhaps in a package deal with goalie Martin Biron, but this move makes clear there was probably no deal to be had, or at least, not one that would've made sense to the Sabres.

Flyers D Desjardins set to retire

Flyers defenseman Eric Desjardins, the second-highest scoring defenseman in team history, will retire this week, a team spokesman said Wednesday.
Flyers spokesman Zack Hill said Desjardins was going to make an official announcement Thursday.

Sinden resigns after 17 years as Bruins president

Harry Sinden, president of the Boston Bruins for the last 17 of his more than 40 years with the team, resigned Wednesday to become an adviser to club owner Jeremy Jacobs.
