Richards Re-signs With Tampa

Lightning lock up Richards

Brad Richards is considered to be among the upper echelon of NHL players — now he'll be paid like them, too.
The Tampa Bay Lightning signed their leading scorer to a five-year, $39-million US contract extension on Monday.
The 26-year-old native of Murray Harbour, P.E.I., made $3.4 million this season and could have taken the team to salary arbitration in the off-season.

Buccigross: Who deserves to drink from Lord Stanley's Cup

John Buccigross remembers Ray Bourque finally tasting glory in 2001. In these playoffs, Bucci picks four players he'd like to see hoist the Cup.

Bruins offer GM post to Shero

The Boston Bruins may have locked up their search for a new general manager, as the Boston Globe reports that Ray Shero was offered the position over the weekend and could be announced to the post as early as Tuesday.
Ray is the son of the late Fred Shero, who coached the Philadelphia Flyers to back-to-back Cups in 1974 and 1975.

Damn, that's got to be half of Tampa's salary cap spent just on Lecavier, Richards and St. Louis.
