Disastrous First Buries Rams

A rusty Kevin, and a patchwork defense spelled disaster for the Rams last night as they surrendered seven first period goals to the Bandits on their way to a 8-4 loss. With regular defensemen Aldo, Colin, Carter, Snappy, and Shoup all out of the lineup the Rams were forced to play people out of position and call up Steve from Murphy's. It did not work out well as early turnovers wound up on Bandits sticks. Perhaps the worst of which was a puck squirted out between the hash marks where a wide open Val was able to pick his spot and blast the puck by a helpless Kevin. "Not much you can do about that other than apologize to Kevin and skate to the center ice dot" said a dejected Art. Art the only regular defenseman in the lineup was able to continue one good streak as he got Val tossed from his second straight Rams/Bandits showdowns.
Also of note was Bender's continued scoring prowess as he notched his fifth goal in just three games. Kratzer scored his first goal of the season, which also pulled him ahead of Kevin in the scoring race. Speaking of scoring races Chris is holding on to the scoring lead as he and Denny were even in the points department last night.
Last regular season game is Wednesday night as the Rams take on the Zebras.
